Art as anObservation
Most recently I have created a body of figurative work in oil, that evolved from capturing a series of fleeting moments. They are reflections of our relationships, to each other, to our surroundings and ultimately a look at ourselves.

Vanessa Cress Lokos
Vanessa Cress Lokos is an award winning artist from Burlington, Ontario, and a member of the Ontario Society of Artists.
Her art practice includes explorations in oil, acrylic, photography, printmaking and installation. Recently Vanessa's focus has been on her love of glaze oil painting techniques, which she uses to create contemporary figurative paintings. She first learned this traditional method over a decade ago at the Art Gallery of Burlington.
Vanessa has studied, exhibited and sold internationally. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, Australia and Barbados. She has a BA with a Concentration in Visual Arts from the University of Ottawa and has been exhibiting regularly since 2009.
The artist is an active member of the Burlington Fine Arts Association, the Arts and Culture Council of Burlington, Hamilton Artist Inc. and the Canadian Glaze Oil Society.
